The slogan, "Bread and Roses" originated from a speech by American women's suffrage activist Helen Todd. This inspired the title of the poem Bread and Roses by James Oppenheim, for which the lyrics are adapted and sung in this game. The orchestration is based on Judy Collin's version of the song.
